Other: Credit Card Processing/Merchant Services Job description: Basic Function The Disputes Specialist is primarily responsible for assisting cardholders with any disputes or erroneous fees charged to their account. Essential Functions Review and track all disputes filed Follow up with customers on any feedback Determine if provisional credit is due (Knowledge of Regulation E) Investigate merits of dispute (contact merchants), verifying transactions, hold releases, etc. General account billing and card activities inquiries Verifications of identity Researching locations of retail stores where our card may be sold Advising of when funds may be deposited to card Check email system and appropriately responding to customers Sometimes handle escalated Customer Service Calls Analyze accounts to determine fraud patterns In addition, this position is required to effectively and efficiently handle customer transactions in real time. This includes, but is not limited to: working simultaneously with multiple software applications, immediate/direct keyboarding into customer service information systems, consistently following up on promises and commitments on a timely basis and appropriately identifying and escalating unresolved issues. Minimum experience or requirements: Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred/helpful but not required. 1+ years of customer service experience in a performance managed environment, preferably a call center. 2+ years in the merchant services or credit card processing industry. Knowledge of the Chargeback process (timeframes, types of transactions, provisional credit) is required as is knowledge of Regulation E. Experience with the use of PCs, including familiarity with and experience in the use of industry standard applications, along with the ability to navigate in a multi-windows based environment.
