Do you have skills to pay the bills, literally? Are you the undefeated champion of the electronic claim game? If so, then you might just be the Senior Billing Specialist we’re looking for. In this role, you’ll be responsible for successfully reviewing claims and payer set ups, filing, and resubmitting claims via electronic or paper claim submission. For this position, we’re looking for a candidate with at least one year of experience in medical claims billing as well as experience within an accounts receivable role. Ideally, this person will have experience in a physical therapy setting. At WebPT, we like to hire the most talented people for our teams, and then give them the freedom to do their jobs. Responsibilities Review, prepare, and submit electronic claims Diagnose and resolve issues associated with escalated or problematic accounts. Identify and resolve exclusion trends, and follow up and re-submit claims when necessary Ensure first pass acceptance (FPA) and educate the team on any issues affecting FPA metrics. Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance, adhering to all HIPAA regulations. Be ready to fly by the seat of your pants. This role is ever evolving, just like WebPT. So while you don’t need to be Cirque du Soleil flexible, we may occasionally ask you to do a few cartwheels, or at least try some things outside of your wheelhouse. Throw business casual to the wind. Skills and Qualifications Abilities and Knowledge Have knowledge of ICD 9 (bonus points for ICD 10) and CPT codes as well as insurance guidelines, especially Medicare and Medicaid. Be able to juggle many complex projects, all with strict deadlines, simultaneously. Know how to roll up your sleeves. We have a lot of brass tacks here, and we like to get down to ’em. Be organized, ahead of schedule, communicative, accountable, in short, own your role entirely, while being open to critiques, suggestions, and new ideas. Be energetic, possess integrity and a positive attitude, and have a hunger for knowledge and a passion for sharing it. Education and Experience Required: At least one year of experience in medical billing. Preferred: Have experience with a variety of medical billing software.
