Since its inception on June 1, 1931, the Prince George's County Police Department has been the primary police services agency in Prince George’s County.  We are the fourth largest full service agency in the State of Maryland.  We strongly believe in community policing, and strive diligently to cultivate a positive relationship with the community that we serve.  In addition to our patrol units, we offer rewarding careers in specialized units such as criminal and regional investigations, special operations, forensics, and intelligence. Law enforcement in Prince George's County is a fast paced, rewarding career that truly brings out the best in those who have what it takes to wear the badge.
