Provides executive level confidential administrative and project support to the Director of the Department. Acts as a primary contact for the Director; provides department administrative management and may lead the work of other administrative staff and Director's interns. Coordinates meetings and activities with bureaus, Mayor's office, other City departments, City Council, and outside agencies. Acts as a liaison with all levels of City and community stakeholders.
- Supports the Director in the performance of the mission of the Department.
- Manages correspondence for the Director and Director's office; Manages the Director's schedule and email inbox, delegating items for action as needed; tracks responses and actions taken by assigned staff; composes routine to complex letters and memoranda for Director's signature.
- Prepares the Director for upcoming meetings including assembling relevant briefing material, records, and other background information.
