Business Service Manager & Youth Services

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Business Service Manager & Youth Services candidate will be reporting to the Director of the Young Adult Opportunity Program and the Adult and Dislocated Worker Program, under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. The Business Service Manager & Youth Services candidate will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the day to day operations of the Young Adult Opportunity Program.  The Business Service Manager & Youth Services candidate will be working with Young Adults ages 16-24 to assist with training, employment and support services under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.

· Develop a deep knowledge of WIOA which stands for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
· Must have excellent management skills and be able to recruit, supervise, and hold the Youth team accountable to provide services to the Young Adults within the WIOA program elements.
· Coordinate with other agencies to assist clients and make appropriate referrals.
· Network with community resources to provide services to address specific barriers customers must overcome to accomplish their goals.
· Attend community events that can be beneficial for our customers career pathway as well as assist with addressing additional barriers that could hinder customers from gaining unsubsidized employment opportunities.
· Advocate for customers with our community partners as well as teach customers how to advocate for themselves.
· Work very closely with the Youth team to provide ongoing effective services to our customers.
· Assist staff with creating new innovative ideas that will help to engage the young adults to participate in the program to become self-sustainable and a contributing member of society.
· Assist the Account Manager with business development and the Community Outreach Coordinator with building relationships in Montgomery County to help create opportunities for the youth to experience and grow within a career pathway.

Work and Education Experience Requirements
· College degree preferred in related field or equivalent work experience
· 3-5 years’ experience as a Youth Program Manager or working with in and out of school youth ages 16-24
· Must be able to work independently or in a team environment
· Ability to assess individual skills with precision and make appropriate referrals
· Ability to problem solve and work with a diverse customer base
· Must have the ability to work well with all levels of the organization and individuals with multiple barriers
· Must be well organized, detailed oriented, and accuracy driven
· Must be able to handle assignments quickly and efficiently, meet deadlines, and handle confidential matters in a mature and responsible manner
· Must exhibit excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written communication skills
· Experience supporting at-risk youth entering into employment and/or post-secondary education preferred.
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
· Prior Case Manager experience a plus.
· Bi-Lingual Speakers in Spanish and/or Mandarin/Cantonese languages preferred
