High School diploma or equivalent required. 21 years or older. Valid New York/Connecticut State Driver’s License required and acceptable driving record as issued by Department of Motor Vehicles. Good interpersonal skills, communication skills, and teamwork. Reliable with good attendance and punctuality. Must maintain required certifications, i.e. AMAP, CPR, First Aid, and SCIP.
Provide direct care and assistance to individuals with a developmental disability that fosters independence, community growth, social maturity and inclusion. Provide the support of individuals in the program with dignity and respect in all interactions. Will participate in the development and assist in the implementation of each residential habilitation plan with the understanding that all people have the ability and right to participate in one’s community in variety of ways.
