General Description:

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for enhancing the Inside Sales Team in coordinating the activities of a project to ensure cost, schedule, document control, and quality standards are met. Under the direction of Inside Sales Manager, the Assistant Project Manager is expected to take on any/all tasks in the effort to learn and execute what is needed to exceed the firm’s goals.

General Responsibilities:

- Assist Inside Sales efforts in all phases and aspects of the project.

- Provide support, coordination, and QC to various teams.

- Follow the Company’s Best Practices.

Work Deliverables: The results that are expected from a top performing Assistant Project Manager are:

Project Set Up: Ensure that proper tools are in place prior to the beginning of a project.

  • Prepare and assist with preconstruction deliverables,
  • Review Contract and become familiar with scope and general terms & conditions,
  • Ensure production teams have the most up to date scope of work,
  • Assist the Inside PMs in the development of the overall project schedule requirements,
  • Ability to review drawings and specifications to become completely familiar with the project and identify long lead times and critical path items,
  • Manage submittal log and ensure all submittals are processed promptly.

Operational Excellence: Plan effectively.

  • Follow up on collection of all non-received documents and escalate any issues to the Inside Sales PM,
  • Draft, submit, and track any RFIs and distribute to all teams as appropriate,
  • Review drawings with the PM,
  • Complete quantity take-offs for possible changes as requested by Inside PM.

Relationship Management: Develop critical relationships.

  • Maintain customer relationships at the appropriate level reinforcing the Company’s commitment to exceeding expectations,
  • Demonstrate effective relationship building within the project team and throughout the Company to keep field team members informed and active in decision-making,
  • Promote positive partnerships by dealing professionally and fairly with all teams.
