Judicial Process Technician
$15.00/hr or $15.45/hr with three or more years of experience
The employee must be willing to work evening, midnight and/or weekend shifts, as the unit must be manned by this position 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Shift times may vary.
Responsible for receiving, verifying, and processing various documents by performing the following duties.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- At least 18 years of age.
- S. Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card.
- Good work history.
- Clean criminal history; any arrest history will be individually evaluated.
- No illegal drug usage within the past two years, all other usage will be evaluated on an individual basis.
- Ability to comprehend and communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
- Accredited high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Must be FCIC/NCIC certified within six (6) months of accepting this position, depending on assignment.
- Ability to receive paperwork and supporting documentation; this could include items such as court minutes, court orders, writs, warrants, travel documents, records requests, invoices, and executive agreements and waivers.
- Ability to confirm information/status of reports and research discrepancies (e.g., performs monthly validations and/or statistical reports to ensure accuracy or records).
- Ability to enter data into and retrieve information from the appropriate data base. Run queries, modify records, and flag files in databases such as FCIC/NCIC and Tiburon.
- Ability to receive and screen telephone calls to determine whether personal attention is required; answer questions or routes to appropriate individuals.
- Ability to provide information and documents to courts, citizens, outside agencies, and other law enforcement personnel. Answer routine questions and assist individuals with paperwork as needed.
- Ability to perform other clerical duties as needed (i.e., photocopying, faxing, filing, collating).
- Ability to perform other duties depending on the area assigned, such as processing releases of defendants from incarceration.
- Ability to maintain familiarity with procedures for judicial process and assist other unit members when needed.
- Must have basic computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet, and various database applications.
- Must have the ability to perform basic functions in Outlook and research information using the internet.
- Must be detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task within established time-limits (e.g., simultaneously handle multiple phone lines and perform data entry with minimal errors).
- Must be able to present a positive image in person and over the phone.
- Must possess good interpersonal skills and customer service skills with the ability to work well with others.
- Must have basic problem-solving abilities.
- Must have the ability to learn, understand, express, apply, and demonstrate knowledge of relevant Florida State Statutes as well as agency policies and procedures.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
