Job Description

Job Summary:

The Plumbing Apprentice will perform a wide range of physical labor tasks in support of workers on the job site. To learn the plumbing trade, under the guidance of a Responsible Master Plumber or experienced journeyman, by performing a number of work assignments, such as tunnels and other plumbing projects.

Responsibilities

The position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the installation of plumbing under the direct supervision of a licensed plumber
  • Respond to service calls in a company vehicle with company tools
  • Work with installation crew plumbing tunnels, spot repairs, and sewer yard lines
  • Cleans and prepares specific areas of jobsite as assigned. This may include digging trenches; cleaning up rubble, debris, and trash; or removing hazardous materials
  • Transport tools, equipment, and material to the job location as needed
  • Assist the plumber in adhering strictly to all safety and health protocols
  • Clean jobsite at the end of the day, ensuring trash is properly disposed of and materials or equipment are properly stored
  • Ability to determine the right tools and equipment pertinent to the successful completion of a job
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

 Requirements

 Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Effective communication skills to be able to converse well with their managers and smooth out issues with customers
  • Good mechanical skills to know what tools are right for the job
  • Physical strength is required to lift some heavy pieces of equipment
  • High School Diploma or any other equivalent educational qualification is required
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Work well in a team environment and with other administrative and company personnel to accomplish organizational goals
  • Professional appearance
  • Strong work ethic and high standard of integrity and professionalism
  • Requires long periods of standing, bending, and climbing
  • Must be able to lift 75 or more pounds at times, with or without assistance
